I
KISSED A FALLING, FALLEN LEAF
(5
November 2007, Along Stewart Creek, by Carl A. Patton)
Always
walking in the Spirit
I
touched nature and the
Creation
one more time.
Yesterday
I hugged a
Cedar
tree. Feelings came
upon
me that I cannot explain.
I moved
to the embrace.
On
this day a leaf floated
gently
toward the ground.
It
reached out at me as
to
say ”catch me if you can.”
But,
I know it spoke
to
me. Thus I met it
at
the ground.
There
looking at the
earth
I reached down and
plucked
it up and held
it
to my lips kissing it
as
I had been assigned.
