Greetings Brethren:

Thanks be to God our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for another day in time. No doubt those that forever seek and record Truth will see the futile attempts to Censor and deny reality. However we forever see the Light. We also gain strength from adversity. As we embrace the storm to see the positive in the negative we are grateful to God. Thank you Father for without your Son and your Truth we could not see.

WHERE IS THE REMNANT?

PART 2: DEFINING REMNANT

IN THE NAME OF GOD MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE, RULER OF THE EARTH

Peace be unto you Brethren. We thank God our Father our Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for our Mission of Faith and Truth. We pray for peace and love throughout the land and country in our homes, church, schools and in Jerusalem. The Bible reveals that Jerusalem is a place for Christians. However all will bow down to the Savior when He returns and all will confess that He is King of Kings Lord of Lords and the High Priest.

Those that have Satan on their mind continue to wander aimlessly. We pray for their return. Who are these people? How can they be defined or explained? Can they be explained by defining the remnant?

Remnant is in reference to several Hebrew words:

  1. Yether: what is left. See Deuteronomy 3:11; and 28:54.
  2. Shear: the remainder. See Ezra 3:8. However for some powerful and revealing scripture we turn to Isaiah 10.

Isaiah 10:20-23. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.” (See Isaiah 17:7-8; 11 Kings 16:7).

“The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.”

“For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.”(See Isaiah 28:22;   Romans 9:27-28).

“For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.”

The prediction of the return of the people of Israel from captivity is recorded in Ezra and Nehemiah. Also in verse 20 we see that Israel will not depend upon those that captured them but on the Lord. For example the Jewish nation ceased practicing idolatry.

In verse 21 the remnant was a prediction of the small number of Jews who survived the captivity and returned to their home country. This fact is often taken out of context to refer to the present condition of the Hebrew people in Palestine.    However as we proceed we hope to bring greater clarity regarding the return of the Hebrew people during this time and during the time in which we now live. (See Ezra 2:64).

In verse 23 the consumption that was to come would not be a mere chance or accident. The Lord promised to bring punishment upon them for their corruption. However we will turn to Daniel 9:27 for a powerful companion scripture.

We suggest that you read the entire Chapter of Daniel 9 especially verses 24-27. Meanwhile our primary verse is the last verse, which is verse 27.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

As we make an assessment of this verse what is the most important point? The predictions of the Messiah in this verse and in several that precede it are of great importance. Here we see that the kingdom of Jesus Christ will be everlasting and will include Jews and Gentiles.  This is the covenant in which we now live. This is also the covenant that is noted at this place.

Also of note as we connect the thought preceding verse 27 is the relationship of the death of Christ and the Destruction of Jerusalem.  The destruction of Jerusalem came 40 years after the death of Christ.  In Matthew 27:25 when Jesus was taken before Pilate and the governor did not know what to do with Jesus the record shows the following. The Jews cried out, “His blood be on us, and on our children.”  Forty years later Jerusalem was destroyed as a punishment for the murder of Jesus.

Meanwhile the death of Christ put an end to all other sacrifices for sin (See Romans 10: 4; Hebrews 10:8, 9, 14). Also see Matthew 24:15, Mark 13:14.
