NOTES ON THE CHURCH AT PHILADELPHIA

Part 9: Revelation 3:12: Faith To The Death

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Our prayer is for a true heart of God among those that profess a love for the Son and the Father. Thus they will be prepared to go among the lost and offer messages of saving grace. Here hope is realized but only by true hearts.

Peace and Paradise, Carl Patton a willing servant of Almighty God writing for the FreedomJournal 6 December 2005 in the year of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

In the name of Almighty God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.

We resume our discussion on the Church at Philadelphia with Revelation 3:12.

“Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which come down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”

Being faithful until death is revealed in “Him that overcometh.” A fixed or permanent place in the favor of God is seen in the phrase “make a pillar.” Here we see a promise to the kingdom to those that are faithful to the death.

As the Book of Revelation ends we see a related scripture at Revelation 22: 4.

“And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.”

Again we see a revelation regarding the faithful who lived according to the will of God thus receiving the tree of life.

Now for a related scripture from the Old Testament turn back to the Book of Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 1: 18. “For, behold, I made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priest, thereof, and against the people of the land. (Also see Jeremiah 6:27 and Isaiah 50:7).

The word “thee” at this place refers to Jeremiah. Also this passage is a figurative assurance that he will be able to withstand the attacks of the enemy. A defenced city with iron pillars and brasen walls would provide a condition of security in literal things.

We also note that the Prophet Jeremiah was distinct. He stood up against all classes in the nation, because all had departed from the Lord. Brethren we bear witness that those that come to day speaking for the Lord must come in a Bold manner. Because just as during the time of Old the classes of humankind have all turned from the Lord. Although many don’t know they are Satan’s helpers.

For the record there are a few exceptions. This is the remnant.
