Part 41: Is The History of the Church Important?

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. We come grateful as always for the gift to write and the will to continue our mission of Truth. Thanks be to God our Father for His divine presence in Christ Jesus and in the Holy Spirit.

Let be written that the distortion of the true history of the church is the greatest crime committed against humanity. Who commits this great crime? Who has the responsibility to teach the Truth of God as revealed in the Holy Bible that God inspired Holy men to write?

Brethren the true history of the church unlocks so many doors that are sealed to the uninformed and lost. As a student of the Black experience realizing the tragic assault on the true history of the people of African descent in my early years as a student and later as a writer and intellectual I believed that the distortion of this record was the greatest crime against humankind. However yeas after my conversion (in 1996) it has been revealed to me that the distortion of Biblical history has had the greatest impact on humankind, this mis-representation of the Truth impacts on the believers and the non-believers.

Therefore the Book of Revelation is very important toward an understanding of these factors. Meanwhile we are benefited by a parallel study of the Bible and secular history. The following are a sampling of secular historical sources that are useful in our quest to gain valuable information about church history.

Ancient Monarchies, by George Rawlinson
Josephus’ History of the Jews
Meyers’ Ancient History
Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, By Edward Gibbon
Mosheim’s Ecclesiastes History
Jones’ Church History

Therefore as we look to the Bible and these various sources do we find evidence that Rome was pagan during this time? Also does the history of Rome have any impact on the various gender problems in the Roman Church today?

Just how did the pope come into existence? What are the various symbols noted in our text (Revelation 13:11, 1-18)? Is the sea the symbol for humanity and the people? Who is the beast? Who made up the Roman Empire? Was this the last world empire?

Was the empire made up of Western Europe that included England, Germany, Italy, France Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal and Spain? Also when the church spread into Europe from its original place of origin did race become a factor in the church? For example did those who continued attempts to conquer and control the world carry sentiments of racial superiority as they claimed the land and people of the 3^rd world?

Just who was/is the dragon noted in verse 2? Does Satan support anything, person are institution that is the enemy of God?
