Part 12: A Concluding Word On
Masturbation

In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth
The answers to
questions on masturbation are best realized in scripture regarding the divine
design for marriage. Here we see that sexual relations outside of marriage are
unacceptable to God. We also find that God ordained the relations between a man
and woman in marriage to replenish the earth.
Thus reproduction is
the divine order of God. So it is quite clear that God forbids fornication and
or sexual practices between members of the same sex. The act of sex and intimacy
is for reproduction. As you know two men are two women cannot reproduce
children.
There is also the
question of birth control. As we study
the scriptures we have discussed we see that God does not allow birth control.
As we review this question we find (Genesis 38: 8-10) the primary scripture
that directly relates to our discussion.
The sperm produced by
man should not be wasted upon the ground. Thus efforts to self impose sexual
stimulation for gratification are to store sperm to be used in some manner to
produce a child in an unnatural manner is forbidden by God.
Sex is not solely for
enjoyment and gratification.
Sexual relations are
for reproduction. Read and digest the following questions:
Brethren as you read and
digest these concerns we note that much of the scripture regarding the issues
we have noted come from the Old Testament. Therefore we note that many of the
laws around marriage are no longer binding for Christians. But the moral law
stands.
WHAT IS THE LAW?
Part of the Jewish Law included those laws found in the Old
Testament. When Paul says that non-Jews (Gentiles) are no longer bound by these
laws, he is not saying that the Old Testament Laws do not apply to us today. He
is saying certain types of laws may not apply to us. In the Old Testament there
were three categories of laws:
CEREMONIAL LAW
This kind of law relates specifically to Israel's worship (see,
for example, Leviticus 1:1-13). Its primary purpose was to point toward to
Jesus Christ. Therefore, these laws were no longer necessary after Jesus' death
and resurrection. While we are no longer bound by ceremonial laws, the
principle behind them to worship and love a holy God still apply. The Jewish
Christians often accused the Gentile Christian of violating the ceremonial.
Law.
CIVIL LAW
This type of law dictated Israel's daily living (see Deuteronomy
24:10, 11, for example). Because modern society and culture are so radically
different, some of these guidelines cannot be followed specifically. But the
principle behind the commands should guide our conduct. At times, Paul asked Gentile Christians to
follow some of these laws, not because they had to, but to promote unity.
MORAL LAW
This sort of law is the direct command of God for example, the
Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17). It requires strict obedience. It reveals the
nature and will of God and it still applies to us today. We are to obey this
moral law, not to obtain salvation, but to live in ways pleasing to God.
Peace and Paradise,
Brother Carl
I sincerely wish that someone has received a blessing from these
humble words. I testify that a blessing did come upon me this body, soul and
Spirit.
