CHRISTIANITY:
FALSE TEACHING, FALSE DOCTRINES
THE MIRACLE
OF HEALING
PART 6: GOD
HEALS AND NOT MAN
In the name of God, Master of the universe, Ruler of
the earth.
Woe to the false prophets who continue to claim healing power. Although
many so-called healers say that God heals they also note that they are
instruments or mediums for His healing power.
Therefore they transfer God’ s power to the faithful. Therefore, our
major task in this ongoing review is to relate the Truth regarding this
question. Again we note there is NO scriptural confirmation for present day
healing by man in the flesh. We also note that God does not charge a fee for
healing His people. No man or woman of God should ever take money for healing
if they have? the power to heal.
God as the healer of the land has a divine mission to render mercy to
the people of God. His purposes for healing are found in his unchanging nature.
Thus, temporary historical circumstances do not dictate healing. Also as the
healing ministry of God unfolds He seeks to glorify himself and His son Jesus
Christ. God also constantly seeks to respond to those who have faith. God also
reports to His own command and promise to the church.
Meanwhile the scriptures note other reasons why God heals:
1. Heals to lead people to repentance and reopen the door for the
gospel.
2. He heals to remove the hindrance to ministry and service.
3. He heals to teach us about Himself and His kingdom.
4. He heals to demonstrate the presence of the kingdom.
5. He heals simply because people ask him.
6. He heals for sovereign purposes known only to Himself.
(Larry Keefauver, When God doesn't Heal Now)
As we review the healing power of God, we will now begin to note the
various scriptures in the Old Testament that relate to healing.
Genesis 20:17. "So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed
Abimelech, and his wife and his maidservants: and they bare children."
20:18 "For the Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house
of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife."
God at times will bring punishment on a king's subjects for the wrong
acts of their sovereign. We also see that God promised Abimelech that Abraham
would pray for him and that the prayer would be effective.
Abimelech was punished even though he did not know that Sarah was
married. Even though his intentions were good, he was in danger of sinning as
long as Sarah was living in his harem. Sin is a poison and it damages regardless
of our intentions. The punishment of closing up the wombs of the house of
Abimelech, lasted only as long as Abimelech was in danger of sleeping with
Sarah. It was meant to change the situation, not harm Abimelech. Meanwhile this
punishment clearly revealed that Abraham served a powerful God
Related scripture Numbers 12:13, and 21:7.
In the Book of Exodus God tells the Hebrew people that if they keep His
commandments He will not place the diseases of the Egyptians upon them. (Exodus
15:26)
Many of the moral laws later given to the people were designed to keep
them free from sickness. God's laws are often designed to keep us from harm.
Related scripture:
Exodus 19:5 and 4-6 God chooses Israel as a nation.
Exodus 20:2-17 The Ten Commandments
Deuteronomy 7:15 God will take-away sickness.
Psalms 103:3
Moses was not only a great prophet but also a great song leader. As we
look at the Songs of Moses in Deuteronomy 32, we go to verses 39 and 40.
Verse 39. "See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with
me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that
can deliver out of my hand.
V. 40 "For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live
forever."
No god in the universe is like the God of Israel. The evidence of this
is noted in His ability to kill or make alive. In verse 40 we see that God
always was and always will be, God is truly self- existent.
