Greetings Brethren,
There is Peace and Joy among the
righteous. Thus, all situations and conditions are covered. The Spirit of God
is within us and will never leave us nor forsake us. Hence we declare that we
will stay with God.
Peace and Love,

THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY &
HEALING
THE MIRACLE OF HEALING
PART 108: SPIRITUALITY BRINGS
PEACE IN A SICK ROOM
In
the name of Jehovah God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.
Research efforts regarding the link
between medicine and religion have become a vital aspect of medical science. While the medical community
continues to grow in this knowledge the religious community
stamps a seal of approval on the new revelations.
Although the studies are not conclusive,
they do suggest that those that have a spiritual experience in their lives deal with health
issues better than those who do not. For the record we also
note that spirituality is faced with two extremes, the comprehensible and the
incomprehensible. While the believers follow faith and the unseen they
also see. However, unbelievers cannot truly understand faith
and the unseen. Thus, the comprehensible and the incomprehensible.
Meanwhile certain studies show that
mental and physical disorders are reduced among the spiritual. Spiritual people also have a
reduction in various diseases. Lower death rates among those
with spiritual experiences are recorded even when lifestyle factors of smoking
and drinking were included.
Medical research has also noted that
the chemical make-up of one's body is the possible reason for these results. Interleukin-6 is a protein
linked to various age-related diseases. However, people that
are active in church services have lower levels of this protein.
Meanwhile a prominent question is
asked by researchers, "Why does religion have such a positive impact on improving health?"
One good reason is the "fellowship of the saints.” Thus the
believers that gather as a church body in religious services weekly and during
the week deal with sickness better than those that do not attend any church
services. Attendance in Sunday school
and Bible study also impacts greatly on one's over-all
health.
We also declare that those that
sincerely follow God and Christ and stay in prayer also benefit from the Spirit
of God during times of illness. Therefore one can raise the question: “Is
fellowship with God more impacting than fellowship among the saints”? Surely
all believers know the answer to this question. But it is written that one can
see God in solitude. Also support is found among fellow believers thus stress
is often reduced. And
stress if controlled reduces many ailments and works toward prevention.
Secondly spiritual people have better
life-style habits. These habits are conducive to good health. Thus many religions encourage their
congregations to eat right, exercise and abstain from smoking
and drinking. It is also noted that religious people with fewer lift-style
restrictions still live longer and have healthier lives.
The belief system of believers and
the fact of positive thinking is also a great factor. Faith in God helps to reduce stress. For example man is
human and has human failings however God is all knowing and
will never fail you. Meanwhile this faith reduces anxiety, stress depression
etc.
Therefore the Joy and Peace of God
allows the believer to deal with any and all situations.
Another outstanding factor of
religion that improves health is noted in prayer. Prayer is stress relief and a form of mediation. Mediation
promotes relaxation and relaxation reduces stress and anxiety.
Prayer also is a comfort to those who stand in need of help. Thus, prayer is
hope realized among the believers.
