GIVING AND THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
(FALSE TEACHING BY PREACHERS AND CHURCH LEADERS)
PART 1: HOW DO YOU REJECT JESUS WHEN YOU TITHE?
In the name
of God Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.
Greetings Brethren and Peace
be unto you. There are many questions and concerns in the Church. However those
that have no bearing on our salvation are usually a waste of time to discuss
and ponder over. But the rejection of Jesus Christ is a direct rebuke of the
Free Gift of Salvation. You do not earn gifts. Nor do you pay for free gifts.
Are there any Preachers
that are not Preaching the False Doctrine of Tithes and Offerings? Ingrained in
this teaching is the rejection of Christ. The rejection of Christ is an affront
to Christianity. So most of the people in church today who profess to love and
serve God and Christ are not Christians and are not serving God. Thus Pagans
and Heathens abound in most churches and have invaded almost every pulpit. As a
contemporary voice crying in the wilderness of “lust for money and material
things” we come to warn those that don’t know. However we inform the ignorant
of the following: “you should know. “ You have a responsibility to know what
God would have you to do. God does not want you committing the ungodly ritual
of Tithing. But to know beloved you must love God and not man. Let us say that
again. When you love God you will love man. God comes first not man. Love of
God will inspire you to read and study the Bible.
When one is inspired to study
the Bible there are often never simple conclusions made regarding comprehensive
scripture. For example one cannot understand the various components of the
Great Commission without an understanding of the passing of the Apostles and
Spiritual Gifts. Especially of interest is the passing of the Spiritual Gift of
Speaking in Tongues. Spiritual Gifts and
Speaking in Tongues are of great interest because many people claim to have
this gift today. But none of the Spiritual Gifts are allowed to those in the flesh
today. Also many of these same people
claim to have healing power. But the Bible notes that the Spiritual Gifts ended
with the passing of the Apostles and the completion of the New Testament.
However God through Jesus Christ is still in healing business. And God is the
only miracle worker evident today not man or the people claiming to be
Preachers, Bishops etc.
Now back to our point of
interest at this juncture. For a clear understanding of how you reject our Lord
and Savior when you Tithe we need to review the following:
Atonement, Tithing, Lamb
of God, Offerings, and Sacrifice. We will begin with notes on the origin,
history and impact of Tithing.
The idea of paying a
tribute to rulers and offering gifts as a religious duty has an obscure origin.
History records that it existed in Babylon in ancient times and also in Persia,
Egypt and China. Abraham knew of it when he migrated from Ur (See Genesis
14:17-20).
Dividing the spoils of war
with rulers and religious leaders was a widespread practice during ancient
times (See I Maccabees 10:31). Also in Hebrews 7:4 we see that during Abraham's
day giving tithes was a holy deed. We remind you that this was during the
Patriarchal Period prior to the Old Law.
Meanwhile Samuel warned
Israel that the king the people wanted would exact a tithe of their grain and
flocks (not money). We also remind you that money in various forms did exist at
this time. Although many preachers claim it did not exist to justify taking
money as a tithe in 2007. (See I Samuel 8:10-18).
When Jacob made a covenant
with God at Bethel it included payment of tithes (See Genesis 28:16-22). At
first the tither was entitled to share his tithe with the Levities (See
Deuteronomy 14:22-23). After the Levitical code had been completed tithes belonged
exclusively to the Levities (See Number 18:21).
If a Hebrew live too far
from the temple to make taking his tithes practicable, he could sell them and
use the money gained to buy substitutes at the Temple. (Deuteronomy 14:24-26).
This permit eventually led to gross abuses by the priests (See Matthew
21:12-13, Mark 11:15-17). We remind the reader here that we were still under
the Tithing law while Jesus walked the earth. The New Law did not come until
Jesus went back to the Father, as we will see.
Tithed animals were also
shared with the Levities (See Deuteronomy 15:19-20). Malachi 3:8-10 is often
used to justify the Tithe by the many False Preachers and Teachers. However we
advise you to read the entire Book of Malachi (all four chapters). In these
primary verses the Prophet Malachi is calling the Jews on the carpet for
refusing to bring a tithe to the temple storehouse. This did not apply to money
but to grains, animals and fowls. Money as a Temple tax deposited in the
treasury box (See Luke 21:1-4). When the Pharisees tithed herbs (this verse is
also used by False Teachers to try to justify a contemporary tithe) we were
still under the Old Law. However they did not tithe money as noted in Matthew
23:33 and Luke 11:42.
How did the promised Messiah
relate to the ritual of tithing, offerings and sacrifice? What did Jesus have
to do with sin? Do the Old Law rituals of sacrifice have anything to do with
sin? What is the religion that the Jews practiced during the Old Law? Does
Jesus and Christianity mean the same as Judaism? Do we have more Christian (?)
Zionists than we care to admit? You cannot reject Jesus and be a Christian.
