WHO, WHAT DO CHRISTIANS FEAR?

Part 9: The Gift of God Will Conquer Fear

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Once again we come with a written testimony regarding the ultimate power of Almighty God. We are glad today for we long to walk and talk in the Spirit. As the Spirit moves us we will go and for this we are grateful.

Peace and Paradise, Carl Patton a willing slave of Almighty God writing for the Freedom Journal 14 February 2006 in the year of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

In the name of Almighty God Master of the universe Ruler of the earth.

Paul a chosen vessel of God our Father as an Apostle of Christ Jesus writes his last words in the second Epistle to Timothy. Timothy his beloved son who he loved deeply and who he sought to inspire to be strong in the faith.

Meanwhile Timothy had received some gifts to help him in his walk of faith. As the Apostle Paul reminds him of these gifts from his Roman prison turn with us to II Timothy 1:6.

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”

What is the gift that Paul tells Timothy to stir up? Was this a gift of inspiration? Can a gift of inspiration be stirred up? Meanwhile this gift came to Timothy by the laying on of the hands of Paul with the endorsement of the elders.

However turn to I Timothy 4:14 for further revelation on this gift noted at this place.

“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”

The phrase “Give thee by prophecy” refers to the prediction of those achievements which one set to teach the Gospel will accomplish for the kingdom of Christ. When Timothy was about to be sent forth and hands were laid on him the prediction was made by those having the gift of prophecy.

But this gift was not the gift of inspiration. We do not know what the gift was. Presbytery means the group of elders over the congregation. Acts 8:14-18 reveals that it required the hands of an Apostle to confer the spiritual gifts.

Brethren what spiritual gifts remain with the body of Christ today? Can any man in the flesh perform miracles today?
