WHO, WHAT DO CHRISTIANS FEAR?
Part 10: God Has Not Given Us The
Spirit of Fear
Greetings Brethren,
Peace be unto you.
During these times Brethren we need God and Christ more than ever. We pray that
we will forever walk in the Spirit. Only Christ Jesus can save us.
Peace and Paradise,

The gift of the Holy
Spirit is noted in Acts 8: 14-18.
Verse 17-18. “Then
laid thy their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”
“And when Simon saw
that through laying on of the Apostle hands the Holy Ghost was given, he
offered them money.”
The Apostles preached
and performed miracles in proof of His authority. However they could not confer
this power. But in Acts 2:38 converts were promised this power.
Now turn back to our
primary text found at II Timothy 1:7.
“For God hath not
given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.”
The word fear in this
instance is used in a sad sense. Here it means timidity, fearfulness,
cowardice. However Christians do not need to have such feelings. God wishes
Christians to be strong in the Lord and the power of his might. (Se Ephesians
6:10).
Love for the
righteous in this passage is the sincere desire to do that which will be
beneficial to others. Although love comes with a sacrifice the righteous will
still extend compassion to the Brethren.
Meanwhile this
service will call upon good judgment or discretion. This is the meaning of a
sound mind.
