Part 9: The Apostles See Jesus Through The Spirit

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Has God through Jesus Christ willed certain tasks and duties for certain people? What of the Prophets and the Apostles? What of the scribes then and now?

In the name of God, Master of the universe Ruler of the earth.

Beloved it is a blessing among those that see God. We are reminded of the great prophet Isaiah and Chapter 6. Refer to this some time and mediate on the message found there. Meanwhile we continue our discussion regarding the impact of the Holy Spirit on the Great Commission. We resume with verse 19 taken from John 14.

“Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see: because I live, ye shall live also.”

Here we find the literal and figurative or spiritual sense of the word see. Jesus would soon be laid in a tomb and in a few weeks he would leave the earth. Therefore the world would lose sight of Him literally. But the association made possible by the Spirit would allow the Apostles to see Him spiritually. Christ also lives continuously in the Church for which he died. In this church all the faithful disciples would live spiritually.

John 14: 20. “At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” (Also see John 10:38; 15: 4-5; 16:16-23; 17:21-24).

The faith and promise of Jesus is something the Apostles had professed confidence in. Meanwhile when the power of the Spirit was bestowed upon them, they would have personal evidence of the divine truth.

Beloved as we pursue our discussion we need a more detailed understanding of the Holy Spirit. Especially how it relates to the Great Commission and the tools needed to carryout the Commission.
