Part 64: Let None Be Ignorant

Greetings Brethren,

Peace be unto you. Brethren stand fast in the word. They still come with no shame. Even some that dispute Christ sacrificing for the entire world. Be not moved b y those who wish us to hear God and His word.

Peace and Love, Carl Patton a willing slave of Almighty God, writing for the FreedomJournal. March 29, 2006 in the year of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Beloved we have seen many ignorant and spiritually illiterate people in the church. Paul renders a similar assessment toward the church at Corinth.

I Corinthians 14: 38-40. “But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

“Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.”

“Let all things, be done directly and in order.”

Brethren Christians have a responsibility to know and learn God’s word. Paul as willed by God had a great impact on the people he came in contact with through his ministry. Therefore these people knew of his writings. Thus no one is asked to acknowledge things he does not profess to know.

Meanwhile came then (New Testament times) and now claiming to know nothing about what Paul was saying. This attitude was stubborn (locked on stupid) indifference. In these instances Paul writes “let them be ignorant.” This means that they were not worthy of further attention.

The word “covets” in verse 39 means “to desire earnestly.” Paul preferred the spiritual gift of prophesying because it was more beneficial to uplifting the church. So he advised the brethren to desire it. However he also instructed them not to slight the other gifts.

In the last verse (40) Paul concluded on a note that he has offered through this chapter. There is order and not confusion with God. Decent (a becoming manner) and in order means that various items of their service, were to be done at the proper time. The service has to be done in a systematic manner so as not to create confusion. This will also bring Peace and Paradise.
