WHY DID THE GREAT COMMISSION END? DID
THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS OF THE MIRACULOUS END ALSO?

Part 4: Remission and Repentance of
Sin
Greetings Brethren,
Peace be unto you.
There is a blessing in our on-going study and love of the sacred text. Here we
find peace. We also find strength to endure. We also find the path to Paradise.
Who comes to deny this path?
Peace and Love, Carl
Patton a willing slave of Almighty God writing for the FreedomJournal 1 March

In the name of God,
Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.
As we continue our
discussion taken from verse 19 in Matthew 28. We now look to several companion
scriptures that reveal a task placed on the Apostles. In Luke 24 verses 44-49
Jesus appears to the Disciples in Jerusalem.
Luke 24:47. “And the
repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all
nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
The Disciples could
not have preached repentance and remission of sins in the name of Christ
without all the requirements of this important prophecy.
The phrase “among all
nations.” Reveals that Jesus died for the whole world, not just for the Jews.
Jerusalem was the capital of the Jewish kingdom it was the model and beginning
place but not the capital of the kingdom of Christ.
We now refer you to
the Old Testament Book of Isaiah for further scripture references regarding the
Gospel being willed by God for all nations, all people, including the Gentiles.
Isaiah 49: 6. (Also
see verse 22). “And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my
servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of
Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles that thou mayest be
my salvation unto the end of the earth.
In the beginning of
verse 6 we see a reference to Cyrus who was to raise up the tribes of Jacob and
restore them to their own land of Palestine. The verse goes on to predict the
service of Christ in bringing salvation to all the nations of the earth. We see
this when the Gentiles are mentioned that had not been included under the
Jewish system.
In verse 22 we see
further illustration that under Christ the Gentiles were to be included. They
will be invited to come in to a close relationship with the Lord. (See the
fulfillment of this in Acts 11: 18).
