CREMATION AND THE SPIRIT
PART 39: THE RIGHTEOUS WILL FOLLOW
THE SPIRIT FULLY
In
the name of God master of the universe, Ruler of the earth
Praise be to God our
Father and the Father of humankind. We thank God for the power of prayer and
for our Savior Jesus Christ. And through the Holy Spirit we can see God.
Brethren many come in
all kinds of clothes and manners of speech praising God. However some come with
a hidden agenda and only follow what the world wants in Spirit and Truth.
However we must follow God fully to the end to get the prize. For an example
the various Churches of Christ and various other Cults follow much of the Truth
of God. However they will all fail to reap the prize of salvation because they
don’t follow God fully. You do not follow God when you preach and teach that
images of Jesus/Prophets/Apostles and Cremation are sanctioned by God.
Numbers 14:24. “But
my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me
fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall
possess it.”
Caleb and later Joshua were not being
influenced by the rebellious people who failed to follow the Lord fully. Those
that follow the Lord fully will reap the free gift of salvation. Therefore you
may follow many things true in the Bible but if at your death you are (
request) BURNED you have forfeited the prize.
Also see Deuteronomy 1:36, and Numbers 13:30; 26:65.
Joshua 14:6-15.
14:8-9. “Nevertheless
my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I
wholly followed the Lord my God.”
“And Moses sware on
that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine
inheritance, and thy children’s forever, because thou hast wholly followed the
Lord my God.”
In view of our
discussion the most important point in these verses is that Caleb remained
faithful. He was faithful from the start and he remained faithful until the
end. Many Christians only are faithful toward the things that they agree with.
For example those that wish to BURN the body at death often say they do so
because of money. Why would the dead be concerned about money which is
temporal? The heart is the call to God.
Is the heart intact if you BURN the body?
Joshua 14: 14-15.
“Hebron therefore, became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the
Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of
Israel.”
“And the name of
Hebron before was Kirjatharba, which Arba was a great man among the Anakims.
And the land had rest from war.”
Again we point out
the righteousness of being faithful to God. Hebron became the permanent
possession of Caleb is noted because he had wholly followed the Lord.
In the last and final
verse we see that there was a temporary pause in the operations of war. This
same sentiment is noted in:
Joshua 11:23 “So
Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord said unto Moses; and
Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by
their tribes. And the land rested from war.”
There are several
important points that beg to be noted in view of this verse and the previously
noted verses. In fact as we look at all of Chapter 14 and the scripture noted
in Chapter 11 we see a need to bring clarity to matters indirectly related to
our discussion.
First the land of
Canaan was promised to Israel by God. Also we see here that war was one of
defense not offensive. Now look to the present age of Christianity. Wars are
not sanctioned by God in the region. Nor is the Promised Land a place for those
that have not made the transition to Christianity. Therefore those that follow
the Spirit fully look to the Bible for answers regarding the great turmoil in
the Middle East. We pray that humankind and the leaders of the world will
embrace God and see the Light. One does not have to be a Christian to know the
Will of God in the Promised Land. He only has to believe that the answer is in
God and not man.
