AMERICA
(18
January 2008 by Carl A. Patton)
This
day I appealed to humanity
one
more time. There I looked upon
bleak
walls, bulletin boards that
offered
help with your high
school
diploma and GED.
The
people came to this place searching
for
help seen in benevolent and charitable services.
Meanwhile
the fare was not always
well.
They dispensed food for,
Life
as the dispossessed, the
lazy,
the unemployed the cripple
the
forsaken and the
destitute
came and went.
I
wondered about the education
of
those that came as skills
somehow
had something to
do
with hunger.
What
else caused hunger?
The
food was consumed however
the
Word never ceased to exist on
a
silver and golden platter as the
righteous
fed on the fatted calf.
